Alco FH JV

Fort Hill 19 Alco 7

Too many turnovers for Alco. Too many penalties for Fort Hill. But yes a good game to watch.

FH got the last score on a long run at the very end. Alco was deep in FH territory a few times with nothing. Yes, way too many turnovers and penalties

There were two big injuries and one kid moved up to Varsity on the FH side all in the past week and Freshmen only had 3 practices with the JV to work together so some of that was to be expected.

While talking about freshman keep in mind most of Allegany's JV team is exactly that...Freshman

Oh, I know. I'm just saying that some of those penalties can be attributed to only playing together for 3 practices. Having played together every day leading up to this point would have been a better indication of their level of discipline. I have a feeling the FH boys ran a lot in practice today.

Allegany has sophomores starting on varsity, they have mostly all freshman on the JV team. Allegany moved the ball just didn't score and FH didn't really move the ball. FH had a long interception return for a TD and a long run. When they play a second time it will be a great game.

Who are the sophomores that start on Alco varsity? I see one soph on the roster with Welch and that was it and i dont think he is a starter though.

FH has officially moved King to varsity I see. He is the soph kicker that kicks it into the end zone most every kickoff. He was the starting QB and safety on freshman last year and probably their best player.

In the first half FH had massive penalties on every single drive. They killed every possession. Most Alco fans I know anticipated a blow out. Good to see blue was ready to fight. But it drops them to 0-3 head to head with FH.

Yes Welch is a starter and leader on defense. He actually carried the axe on the field to begin the game. He had a real good game defensively. He is on special teams, one of the better players on defense and runs sparingly. He will get a lot more carries as the season goes on. The other Rashad Wingate, played defense of back against Dunbar Christian and Rashad are 2 of the fastest on the varsity team. They both would have been starting running backs on the JV team. They would be starting running backs on many varsity teams.

I thought the young QB for ALCO will be one to watch in the future ..tough young man for ALCO in the future
