In nearly have a century of Maryland football playoffs, Fort Hill can become only the 2nd team ever to accomplish this feat in any Class. While this is old news here its important to sit back and realize what an astonishing feat that would be at any level. Fort Hill can finally put their name down as one of the greatest football programs in the history of the state. This may have been known before 1974 and to some degree after but at least when measuring it by state titles won this one will cement their legacy.

What makes me appreciate it so much is I sat thru the Linganore Ice bowl, a loss to Damascus when Dan Whitehead kicked a 47 yard field goal, the 3a urbana playing in 1a and dismantling us, the last play loss to Dunbar and Tavon(so close yet so far), a loss to JFK when a screen pass was intercepted and returned for a td which killed any chance we had, a loss to Gwynn Park without our best player who was kicked off the team the week before, a loss to Cambridge when we couldn't even get on the field without getting a penalty for being late because Jim Chaney WAS the worst FH coach ever, a loss at Damascus after controlling most of the game but a phantom hold on a screen pass took us from inside the ten to back in our own territory, completey choked the last several minutes away and lost a late lead in that one, the Perryville meltdown, ..there are many more but with this many lowlights I think it is clear why I'm thankful and grateful for what we have accomplished lately!

Im pretty sure FH was already considered one of the greatest programs in MD Football...
