2025 Schedules

I know it's early, and schedules may not be complete, (plus they are always subject to change). But does anyone have schedules, (or partial schedules) for any of the area teams for next season.
Just trying to get a little conversation going since the board is quite this offseason.

Times have definitely changed... Pretty soon there will be no Friday Night Lights.

Does seem like they haven't gotten the hint that less and less attendance means less and less dollars and less and less community involvement in their childrens lives. You have to wonder sometimes why elected officials in Cumberland keep getting reelected or their replacements are the exact same kind of people.

I don't have a problem with a 6:30 start time, but I don't think that it is the answer to curbing the bad behavior in the stadium.

What bad behavior in the stadium. I don’t see it. I go to a lot of football games throughout the year in Virginia Beach and I can tell you that any school you look at has more high school kids in attendance..
The kids are really into their high school football team. I’m not sure why that doesn’t happen at Fort Hill..
Does anyone really believe that if you block off part of the track, the stadium will be safer?.

Lots of wins on that schedule. Don't sleep on Clear Spring, I believe that they have some decent kids coming back. Plus, their Coach is doing a bang-up job with what he has.

Interesting to see that Catoctin and Frederick were replaced with Boonsboro and Clear Spring. Still a very decent schedule for a 1A school. I personally like the challenge of having Frederick on the schedule.

It cost around $44,000 a year to attend, but reads financial aid is available for athletics

Maret is a good pick up for Alco. They usually win 9-12 games without being overwhelming. Good for win points. I see they beat St. James the past two years. Should make for a good match up. Not sure if this is one or two year deal.

Keyser is not considered a local priority team anymore when it comes to area teams playing each other. So they would no longer get Friday precedence. They used to get Friday precedence when they played both Alco and FH.

Northern and Southern are quite frequently reduced to Thur or Sat games at Greenway. Those are true local WestMac schools who play both Alco and FH. Week 1 Alco gets the Friday slot hosting Hollidaysburg while Northern will have to play FH on Saturday for both team's opener. So even the true local teams don't get priority when sharing the field.

Mountain Ridge is guaranteed to be a Friday game. Sharing a stadium has an unwritten policy that both Alco and FH work out fairly well. When both share an even number of home games on the same week, they split them down the middle. One team gets a Friday and the other gets a Friday. When the number of games shared is an odd number (like in years when they share the stadium three times) they rotate who gets the two Friday slots. Seems pretty fair. Not sure how else you split it evenly. Both school ADs usually work it out.

What I didn't realize was that FH has played North Hagerstown 64 times since their first meeting in 1936 (the year FH opened). That includes the years there was only one Hagerstown school prior to them splitting into North and South in 1957.

No one has played more football games against FH other than Alco and Martinsburg.

Everybody makes the playoffs. FH is good, but you can always count on 6-8 kids having to play both ways. Same with Bridgeport.
