No changes at all in the order of rankings from last week.

If the favorites win out the remaining two weeks here would be the playoffs:
#4 Southern at #1 Fort Hill
#3 Boonsboro at #2 Catoctin

TOUGH ROAD - For Allegany to get in they have to win out and have Mountain Ridge lose both games (Fort Hill, Keyser) and have Brunswick lose one game (Buchanan, Catoctin).

Fort Hill is actually not locked into the playoffs mathematically. If they lose their last two games there is a very slim chance that they would not get in. But it would take their already beaten opponents to almost lose every game, which is highly unlikely.

For Southern to get in they have to win out. They also must have Mountain Ridge or Boonsboro lose a game. Boonsboro will be a heavy favorite to win out so the Rams now have to switch gears and be big fans of Fort Hill beating Mountain Ridge (or Keyser the next week).

Catoctin will lock in if they beat super heavy underdog Clear Spring next week.

All two loss teams (and there are currently four of them) have a shot at the playoffs. An educated guess is that a 3 loss team is not going to get in this year. So for all you 2 loss teams...every game is a playoff game from here on out. That's not in stone as crazy things and upsets happen, but most likely it is the case.

Interesting note: The MPSSAA now has their Week 8 point standings up. To show how hard it can be to make the playoffs in the 1A West:

If any of the regions (North, South, East) played in the West, only the #1 seeded team would make the playoffs. The other nine teams seeded 2-4 in other regions would be out.
