The fact that 3-7 and 2-8 teams are projected to make the playoffs in the 1A North should be enough to convince the MPSSAA to ditch their regional playoff system or at the very least even the number of teams in each region so you don't have 13 in 1A South and 7 in 1A North.

I could see North Carroll, McDonough, Pikesville and Surrattsville all going 0-10, which means 1 of them would be the 4th seed with a winless record. An 0-10 playoff team!

North Carroll's been outscored 58-0 in their 1st two games (1 of which was called at the half). McDonough just gave Saint Charles their first ever win, are the only 1A school in the SMAC and still have to play the likes of Chopticon, Thomas Stone and Patuxent, Pikesville's been outscored 97-0 and still has to play Eastern Tech. Surrattsville's been outscored 71-12 by Archbishop Carroll (DC) and Largo.

To make things even better, there could only be 6 teams in the 1A North next year as Carroll is strongly considering closing North Carroll and consolidating their students with Manchester Valley.

You beat me to the punch eagle. I was looking at this last night and haven't had the shot at posting anything about it. It would be shameful that a 2-8 or 3-7 would make the playoffs. I agree with you 100%. I actually am hoping that it happens though. I think that if it were to happen in the first year of the new director that could be enough to force a change.
