Mine are; 1979 Fort Hills 4 th quarter comeback for the win. 1984 Fort Hill upsets undeated Alco. 1994 the Shannon Trimble show !!

Wow, for years and years and years mine was definitely the 1994 "Shannon Trimble Show." That game had it all, two undefeated teams who played solid schedules, Trimble versus Fields, both Head Coaches had a son playing in their Senior Homecoming, a TON of talent on both sides, and of course the biggest crowd by far to see a Homecoming game.

While it will forever be my favorite, the back to back 21-20 games were absolutely unreal and are a close second. It is in these games that Appel demonstrated that he was the far superior coach and was running the superior program.

I'm with Polk. It's the '94 game for me too. For the reasons he mentioned.
Alco beat Linganore, Holidaysburg, TJ and Damascus that season. Both teams played to big crowds that entire season.

Both Teams had great regular seasons. The buildup for that game was crazy. The crowd was obviously huge. And S.Trimble doing his thing make '94 #1 for me

Do we really have to keep talking about the 1994 Game for heaven's sake!

I am just kidding.

While we (Allegany) came up short that day, I cannot think of one guy on either team that is not proud to say they played in that game. There were lots of great players in that game to be sure, but more importantly, there were a lot of great guys who played in that game for both teams.

I cannot believe it has been 20 years, where does the time go?

Matt

Those years were awesome! Palumbo, Roberson, walker... Was a power house

94 game was also one of my favorites even tho we lost. It was still cool to see these 2 powerhouse teams go at it. Michael Fields vs. Shannon Trimble 2 All-Time High School Greats going at it. Aint it funny all these yrs. later FH's coach of that game Calhoun is now Alco's principal...

My favorite Homecoming game has to be the NFL Films Greatest Rivalry Game... That win was almost as good as winning a State Title... That was the biggest crowd I had ever seen at Greenway. There was alot of excitement going on in the City. This Homecoming was worth alot more than a kettle and both teams really wanted it... Im glad people all across the Country got a chance to watch this Classic Rivalry... These teams would go on to face each other in the playoffs that yr and the results of that game was added to the NFL Films Feature...

I'm a little biased and have to bring up the 94 game again, My son played in that heavyweight fight so always holds a special place in my heart.

The Gavin Palumbo, Deain Roberson, and Brandon Walker years were fantastic. As these guys actually graduated in 1994 their senior Homecoming was 1993 and it was a fantastic game played mostly in the mud. Brandon Walker scored late in the game to give Fort Hill the go ahead touchdown. Shannon Trimble sealed the deal with an interception. 1993 was a great Homecoming and the 1993 Fort Hill team was very, very good, ultimately losing to Damascus at Damascus in the playoffs.

77' game was also a great game with Fort Hill winning 12-9. Refossco surprised everyone with an on sides kick and his famous fake punt. Also both teams where undefeated. I can remember it was cold as hell that day. Eric Taylor. The Dornself brothers where a few Alco players I recall. Fort Hill had Gerald Trimble, Todd Martin in the backfield with Tommy Stallings at QB.

I was only in middle school in 94 but that was by far my favorite yr. in High School Football.. I remember traveling to the Holidaysburg and Damascus games with my grandfather. We went to just about every Alco game and all of FH's home games. It's cool to see how many people on here enjoyed that yr. of High School Football. The crowd at homecoming was huge but I still think NFL Films crowd was bigger... It would be nice to have another yr. like 94 in local football...

Yeah, the Damascus game was a heart breaker... That was a very, very foggy game. You had a hard time making out the players on the field.

The NFL films game crowd wasn't that big. There was 14,000 plus at the 94 game. There's pics in the Fort Hill football web site. Look under history and click on photo gallery. As a matter of fact the crowd has really dropped off at the Homecoming games. I doubt very much if you see another crowd like the 94 or the 77 game in the stadium again.

Your right there was aboout 10,000 at the NFL and 14,000 in 94. The crowds dropped off so much since 94 so when we got a nice crowd it seemed bigger than it actually was but still was nice to see both sides getting a crowd on the hills. I remember when I was young Alco always had a nice crowd under the scoreboard and FH on their hill but those days are gone. We might have a few on each side but nothing like in the past..

The 1994 game had 14,000 record breaking and The 1994 playoff game probly had 8000 if I am correct. I agree with Matt there was plenty of talent on both sides that year. The 1994 Allegany Football Team was a special group of guys especially the Seniors on that Team who just came from a 4-6 1993 season. I was a member of that 1994 ALCO team.

There is no way there were 19,000 at any Homecoming game ever. lol 14,000 is the generally agreed upon (and probably slightly exaggerated number)
