Maryland Varsity is bringing readers an in-depth recruiting look with the
Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Jelani Roberts, Camari
Murray, Eric Burrell, Trevonte Gibbs, and Bryan Marine now!
......................................................................................................
Calvert Hall athlete Bryan Marine
Recruiting: “I’ve been talking to Stony Brook but I haven't received any
other interest. That is about it.”
A favorite growing up: “It is Pitt.
I’ll be attending a camp there and that would be the school I have watched.”
......................................................................................................
Bishop McNamara wide receiver Camari Murray
Recruiting: “It has been Illinois, Ball State, ODU, Michigan, Michigan State,
and Northwestern.”
Visits: “I don’t have any visits planned yet.”
Being recruited the hardest: “I would say Illinois probably is. They are
thinking about offering me once I get them my 40-time. I should be able to get
that to them at the next combine I’m going to.”
......................................................................................................
McDonogh defensive back Eric Burrell
Offers: “V-Tech has offered me, UVA has, and so has Old Dominion.”
Others recruiting: “Penn State has sent me letters, Maryland has sent letters,
and Notre Dame has sent me some letters.”
Visits: “I was just at Maryland
last week for the Maryland-Syracuse game. I liked it and enjoyed it.”
The
situation on a Maryland offer: “I don’t know what they are waiting on. Hopefully
I’ll get one soon.”
A final decision: “It will probably be my senior
year. I don’t want to commit too early.”
Upcoming visits: “I don’t have
any setup now but I am sure that I will.”
......................................................................................................
Gilman athlete Jelani Roberts
Recruiting: “I have gotten mail from Boston College, Maryland, Missouri,
Michigan State, Navy, Richmond, Princeton, Yale, and Harvard.”
Offers:
“Right now I have an offer from Navy. My coach told me that they offered.”
Thoughts on Navy: “Navy is a great school. They have excellent academics and
they have a good football team.”
A favorite: “It is the University of
Virginia. I like the location, their academics, and they have a good football
team too.”
Others close to offering: “I’m not too sure.”
College
visits: “I went to the Penn junior day. Right now, me and my dad are just
researching what I want to do.”
Junior day invites: “I got junior day
invites from Boston College and Maryland.”
A final decision: “I’m not
sure because I haven't really thought that far ahead. I am just working to get
ready for the season.”
......................................................................................................
Douglass lineman Trevonte Gibbs
Recruiting: “I was talking to a Maryland coach or a former Maryland player.
I’ve also been getting emails from schools interested in me like Yale and
Princeton.”
Visits: “No.”
A favorite college growing up: “It is
Texas because I like their football program.”
