Quince Orchard athlete Fofie Bazzie
What did you end up picking Maryland?
"I picked Maryland because it felt like it was going to be something big within the next two years. I feel like there's going to be a special class with all the talent that they have coming in. They have the potential to win the Big Ten Championships and I feel it was a really good fit for me. I get to stay home and have my friends and family watch me play. I feel like it's just the right fit."

What other schools were you considering?
"I was considering Temple and Iowa State too. Iowa State, Temple, and Maryland were the three that I was really interested in."

What really sold you in Maryland over those other schools?
" I went up to Temple a few times and I just couldn't see myself there. At Iowa State, I haven't been up there but I knew Iowa was just too far. I'm not that type of guy that can go that far away from home. Everything played out for Maryland and that is why I am staying close to home."

How did the coaches end up offering you a scholarship?
"I went through a visit and then talked to Coach Durkin afterwards. He basically told me about how you felt about me. He was talking about the improvements that they're trying to do over there and wanted to keep good guys coming in. He thought I was someone that could be a big part of the program."

What was your reaction from the coaches?
" They were all excited. Everyone from the d-coordinator, o-coordinator, receiver coach, trainers, special guys, and player personnel. They were all excited. I've been there like 4 or 5 times and they all have a lot of love for me. There is a lot of loyalty going both ways. Once I am committed, I don't plan on listening to those other schools. I am going to stay committed until February when I sign."

What was the hardest part of recruiting?
"It was really just keeping up with the coaches and visiting. It was a hard schedule because it was really busy."

Calvert Hall linebacker Chance Campbell
Recruiting
"In Mach I visited Stanford and UCLA. I went did a junior day at Stanford. Last year I went to Penn State and Maryland. Maryland was a visit and a game and Penn State was just a game day visit. At UCLA, I was able to meet with the defensive coordinator."

Recruiting the hardest
"I don't know about that. It is tough to say and I'm not really sure who stands out. They are all great schools and it is exciting."

A favorite college growing up
"My dad went to Penn State and played football for Joe Paterno so I've always loved Penn State. As I am getting older, they have been my favorite school to watch but I don't have a favorite."

Having a dad who played Division I football
"It has been huge. My dad is awesome. He talks to me about that stuff all the time. Things are different recruiting wise now but his knowledge of the game is unparallel. Being able to talk to him about things and utilize his wisdom is great."

Sherwood defensive tackle Everett Stubblefield
Recruiting
"None so far but I have spoken with an alumni from North Carolina. Hopefully this can change after the season."

Favorite college growing up
"Maryland. I have lived in Maryland all my life."

Paint Branch linebacker Durell Nchami
Recruiting
"No."

Favorite college growing up

Decatur quarterback Darion McKenzie
Recruiting
"There's been a little bit. I've had some interest from several Division 1-AA schools like Hampton and Florida A&M. It has been things like that."

Visits
"I had one to Hampton recently. It was really good experience to watch them play. I also have a spring game coming up at Maryland on the 16th."
