Maryland Varsity is bringing readers an in-depth recruiting look with the
Varsity Insider. Find out what colleges are after Jack Shugars, Trevor
Brown, Darius Hinton, Will Hazelton, and Craig Jones now!

......................................................................................................

Wise defensive tackle/tight end Trevor Brown

Recruiting: “I have an offer from ODU and interest from Boston College,
Temple, Rutgers, Maryland, Delaware, NC State, and that is about it for now.”

The ODU offer: “It was a couple of months ago over the phone. Then I was
able to visit a couple of weeks after that.”

Visits: “It has been Rutgers
and Temple so far.”

Schools close to offering: “I am just waiting to see.

A final decision: “I am not really sure. I am just going to see if I reel
anything else in for next year.”

A favorite: “ODU.”

Reservoir athlete Craig Jones

Camps: “I’ll be doing a few college camps. I’ll be at Maryland, Penn State,
and places like that.”

Recruiting: “Right now it has been Towson.”

Visit plans: “I want to visit Rutgers, Maryland, Syracuse, Virginia, and
Wake Forest.”

......................................................................................................

Archbishop Spalding lineman Jack Shugars

Camps: “I want to hit up a couple of Ivy League schools. I got Georgetown and
Navy just came by my school a few days ago to talk to me. Stetson is another
school. I am going to wait to see who calls and base my list off of that.”

Calls: “I have gotten a call from Stetson and was invited down to Towson and
Georgetown for spring games. I went to Georgetown and talked to their coaches.
They said we like your size and tape. We want to assess you at our camp. I have
gotten a lot of camp invites but some of them have been mass emails. I got
invited by Harvard to come to their camp.”

Recruiting the hardest: “I’d
say Stetson and Georgetown. Navy might be in there because the recruiter just
came to my school.”

A favorite college growing up: “I’d say Maryland.”

......................................................................................................

C. Milton Wright running back Will Hazelton

Camps: “This summer I am going to the Delaware camp and the North Carolina
State camp. I’m trying to go to more. I have the Wagner football camp. Their
coaches have been emailing me.”

Recruiting: “It has been Missouri,
Kentucky, Delaware, UCF, Wake Forest, Rutgers, Connecticut, and Howard.”

A favorite: “I really like the Delaware coach. He talks a lot about academics.
That is his main focus when I talk to him.”

......................................................................................................

Franklin running back Darius Hinton

Recruiting: “I got my first offer from Marshall. UCONN has come to the school
and West Virginia has been sending me emails and letters.”

The Marshall
offer: “I wasn’t at the school that day because I was out sick. My coach called
me and let me know.”

Thoughts: “It felt great. It was a big weight lifted
off of my shoulder to have a Division I offer now. It is always my dream to play
Division I football. It is a blessing.”

Marshall: “I know that they have
a big history with the plane crash and a lot of tradition. I went up there for a
spring game and I loved it.”

Others close to offering: “Not really.”

Visits: “No, not yet.”
