Martinsburg - Have won 22 in a row. I know all the finger pointing of who refuses to play who but the losers are the fans because this was a great rivalry and we would have seen great games over the past 5 years. Time to make this happen again. Who doesn't miss these games? The stadium was packed and there was an electricity in the air.

Bishop Guilfoyle - Won the PA 1A state title the past 2 years. Located in Altoona. They are smaller than FH and it would be a great game. Can you imagine the hype if they had played them. 4 time defending MD 1A champs against 2 time defending PA 1A champs. They are basically in FH's backyard.

Even if FH played both of these teams and lost, they would go 8-2 and be a 1 or 2 seed in the region. I am not blaming anyone but where there is a will, there is a way. Shouldn't a 4 time defending state champion schedule up and play teams outside their comfort zone a game or two? They would still win the state championship with 2 regular season losses. But if they win these games, it puts an exclamation point on how great the team is. Its really a no lose situation for FH. That's all I am saying.

The Martinsburg coach has said he wants to resume the series, so this game could be put together in about 5 minutes. And since Martinsburg is nationally ranked #928 by Maxpreps and FH is ranked #670 it should be a great game - in fact, FH should be favored, but this game will NEVER be made under the current FH coaching staff. There's no need in even having this discussion, especially considering how well Martinsburg has been playing recently. FH lost 7 of the last 8 games against Martinsburg. As you see FH will go to Pittsburgh, Washington DC, even bring in a team from Florida to avoid playing Martinsburg.

I can't comment on Guilfoyle, but if they are the 2 time defending PA 1A champs it's unlikely FH is anxious to play them. They will probably have trouble squeezing them in between Silver Oak and MATHS.

I don't think Guilfoyle plays any non-conference games, their league has 12 teams and plays a closed schedule. Pennsylvania 1A is very small schools.

The rancor from FH fandom comes from the inability to admit that FH will only schedule two competitive games and Alco. And, out of those competitive games they will avoid teams that are familiar with defending the Wing-T.

When did Walker say this? Source please. NEWS FLASH: FH hasn't played MATHS in years.

So we're going to be seeing Martinsburg on Allegany's schedule starting next year?

Well, y'all keep hangin' onto that meaningless preseason strength of schedule 4.63 number as though playing the games doesn't matter. In fact, Alco (basis current numbers) already plays a tougher schedule (4460 competitor average) than Fort Hill (4711 competitor average). So, why should Allegany up its game when FH plays 7 get-into-the-playoff patsies.

Two competitive games and Alco. Thanks for not getting confused and lumping them together.

It's a tough situation. As an example FH begged several PG County schools last winter to play a game when they even had the same open date. Flowers, Bowie, Largo, Parkdale, Gwynn Park didn't want any parts of FH. They even had one school Fairmont Heights bail out of a signed contract to avoid FH. Many of these schools are huge 4A school with triple the enrollments.

FH should just play Martinsburg sice no other bigger schools want to. I dont want to see any more private schools. MPSSAA schools won't play. They need to step up.

I usually don't respond to this guy's posts because he never makes any good points. But why is he talking about PG County schools? Totally nothing to do with anything else in this thread.

I don't doubt Walker wants to play Fort Hill, but for goodness sakes Boyz, this article is 11 years old, lol.

True, but I don't have time to go through 10 radio interviews to find that one soundbyte, lol. All that has to happen is for the FH AD to call the Martinsburg AD on Monday morning and set the game up.

Is ANYONE besides Alco “familiar with defending the wing T”?

One could argue "to be more prepared to beat FH?"

We have a winner! I'm not a mind reader but I think at this point in time Hansel would prefer to beat FH, while FH is thinking about the best pathway to another championship.

But pause and ask yourself if you would rather be Robinette or Banks right now. Robinette is probably close to 600 approaching 700 gritty yards carrying the ball against tougher competition. Easy answer if the ring is the only thing.

Somebody should tell Martinsburg their schedule is hideous. Step up and play a few good DC private schools.

Somebody should tell Keyser to play FH.

Somebody should tell the teams in 1A West that just one single team needs to play FH.

Someone needs to tell the MPSSAA to get just one single team to play FH.

Someone should tell the PG County schools to play FH instead of playing 9 games.

Someone should tell Baltimore City schools to play FH. Just one of them.

Blah, blah, blah. FH doesn't have to do squat. Someone else step up.

Just look at the schedule. FH will find 7 teams they can run the clock on and then foot the bill for some competition to come to town - perfect scenario to whine that nobody will play you. A team like Martinsburg probably wants a multiyear commit beyond Fort Hill's plan.

Actually, as poor as 1A has shown to be, I don't know why FH doesn't play 9 games of numbnutz and then homecoming. What's the point of over exertion? Why scuff the shoes?

Or, how about rewarding the band by drawing lots to have a random band member kickoff for the second half, or punt if they ever have to.

Lots of sour grapes in this thread, methinks.

FH is a good football team, making decent schools look bad. Just wait until homecoming.

Gritty yards

Gritty yards? I dunno if I'd say that, hes been pretty untouchable. Just having to play longer because they don't put away teams as early. Hence, more yards. He's a beast, I can't deny that.
