Shook had a rough game

Shook is a disgrace. Cassell is in week 14 and don't know which way to turn. At least he found the ground on the kneel down.
I'm not one of those that think FH can win in any division against anyone anytime any year and this just proves it. I don't care if they are young or inexperienced, in the 14th game that is not an excuse. You can't pin it all on Shook, he doesn't have the final say. I get that people think 1A is watered down and weak but if there wasn't a 1A FH isn't winning championships.

This year no. Teams in the past, yes.

This years team wasnt supposed to be able to win the other classes. This years team is doing exactly what their expectations were. They lost to who they should’ve lost to and have beaten the teams they should’ve. Now their making a run for the title which was expected.

I tried to warn everyone. Perryville is very good. They didn’t give up a touch down the last 4 weeks

It’s hilarious that everyone forgot that this was a rebuilding year with weak line play

FH won this year because of coaching!

And for all the haters out there last year‘s team beats everyone in Maryland

I concur Tony. The only play I really have a huge issue with is going for the 4th down early on their own 29. Maybe a little too aggressive too early. But hey, if it works then we say "way to be aggressive early!"

The staff coached the line up super fast from a green group of underclassmen to a state title contender. Sometimes you meet a team that is playing well and you start making mistakes. Perryville wanted this game bad and, unlike 2011, FH wisely took the FG at the end of the first half and it was the difference in this game.

Now, they just need to forget about that lopsided victory over Northern early in the season and focus on how to stop a red hot Huskies team next week. They're on a mission. I'm looking forward to it.

We FH fans are spoiled. You get some tough games and people who likely never coached a down of football at any level call for throwing in the towel. I play armchair QB all of the time as well but I have learned don’t comment on what you don’t know. Have people forgot that last year we probably saw the most dynamic FH offense we have ever seen with multiple formations that supplemented the WingT base? It was the same coaching staff. This year is more simplistic but maybe the coaches are coaching to the personnel they have this year.

Dude, what the hell is wrong with you. It's high school football for Christ sake. What has this kid ever done to you, for you to be on his A$$ all year. Believe me there where many more mistakes made by other players that I don't see you singling out. Oh and are we sure he turned the wrong way, or are we just assuming.

I will add to my comment I just posted with the question: Where is the praise to the kids and coaches for sticking it out and coming back from behind two weeks in a row, on the road, in the playoffs?
Well said. This team has been through the ringer this season and here they are still standing and in the state final.

The coaches sticking it out? FH won despite Shook's best efforts to loose the game. At least Perryville matched Shook's lack of common sense in the 2nd half by trying to throw over top of fort hill's defensive backs instead of the short passes we all heard so much about.

I don't know about you but the odds say you don't go for it there even though you've went for it all year on 4th in your own territory and failed more times than not. It's not a smart call. Having said that, if you are going to do it call ANY play in your playbook except handing it to #3. It is THE only play anybody is defending. At the end of the game when P'ville had 11 men in the box you could easily quick pitch to #5 instead of continuing to send #3 up the middle, it's just too predictable. Not getting in from the 2 with four downs is just plain stubbornness. Put #11 in, roll him out and he can run or pass. On that note does anybody really believe that #11 would not be a far better qb for a FH offense than #8. We aren't and never will be a passing team with this staff. If you don't need a pocket passer because your offense is not geared to that then utilize the position as an extra rb. #11, and nothing against#8 at all, would be a threat to run and that's one more thing to defend. Lastly, can anybody really justify not getting the ball into #5's hands any way you can? If he hadn't returned that kickoff chances are the offense continues to sputter and we're down three scores instead of two. I wonder if Ty Johnson had been in this offense would we ever have known what he was and what he's turned out to be...probably not if he only got the ball three times a game.

I had said from the quad that I believe #11 gives the FH offense more upside. For many of the reasons you stated. Noticed that the whole offense seemed to run more natural with #11. My guess is that the coaching doesn't want their QB1 playing both ways. #11 is a very important part of the defense. Maybe the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze.

That would make sense except the person who carries the ball on every play on offense is on the field for every play on defense. Having said that I've never liked the qb playing defense so if you can't replace him on defense then maybe you just go with #8. I would have strongly considered putting #5 at qb but that's because I'm a fan of speed and the more he touches it the more likely he is to break it.

you’re grasping for straws if the only thing you can say is are you sure he turned the wrong way. A whole stadium and live stream saw it

Why does # 11 never go under center when he’s in the game. He has been in shotgun every time he has played all season. I know he’s mostly used when the team needs a QB they can trust to make a big play but even going back to the homecoming game where he played a majority of snaps, he never took one from under center. Can anyone answer why?

During the quad, and early in the season he spent some time under center. Offense ran smoothly.

My response was made under the original caption for this thread. Which read in bold caps. CAN SHOOK AND TAKE CASSELL WITH HIM, I actually missed the play. My point was more about lots of guys made mistakes today, and this guy (ss610) decided to call only Cassel out for turning the wrong way. This guy has dumped on Cassell all year. Not sure why you want to dump on a high school kid. Unless he has gone back and deleted previous post, he has only blamed Cassel for any FH woes. Hell I think one game FH scored 56 points and this guy found fault in Cassel. So my question was more of a sarcastic nature to the poster. SS610 has since went back and changed the threads original title.

Actually, the FG was the difference in the game. 😉 But yes, he did throw that go ahead TD. Either way, the kids and coaches got it done. And they're playing next week. I'm not about to trash any coach or player for getting to the state finals again.

Not the way they are now. I agree with that, but they still would have won some championships. They've also had some some really good squads. What they've done with expanding the playoffs and adding the extra classes... I don't think anyone has been a big fan of those.
