Sherando/James Wood

You mean to tell me Sherando didn't win by 40? No running clock?

I don't believe it
They must have taken James Wood "litely"... Oh, and BTW, Sherando's opening opponent, which was supposed to be a powerhouse, has won 2 games... Someone is blow'n smoke LOL...

Oh, and BTW. Sherando beat Martinsburg who Fort Hill runs from like little girls

FH needs to beat S Hagerstown first then worry with the Warriors. Both of these games are winnable for FH. They must play like a team and believe in themselves. I think Coach Appel will have them ready!

All you have to do is look at the Sherando record of who they beat. There's a lot of 'talk' coming out of Stephen City, VA since August...

I love the fact that FH is playing Sherando this year. It is consolation to playing Martinsburg. However, the most important game of the year is this Friday. SHHS is a good team. There is a new attitude at SHHS over the past several years and it has started with the administration down to the student. Hagerstown has dealt with a gang problem and SHHS was a victim but the administration has taken discipline and accountability head-on and created a new culture. I hope it holds. I have not met their head coach for the past several years but I have met their principal and assistant principals and these guys are good people. I hope the path they have taken holds. Hagerstown has dealt with heroin, Spice, and gang violence on a scale that Cumberland will see in the future and the police, schools, DJS, and DSS are combating it. SHHS is pumped or this game. FH better bring their "A" game. This game will define FH more than the Sherando game. I am pumped. It was only a year ago that a Hagerstown administrator told me that it would be crazy to schedule FH as SHHS was not on that level of competition despite being a 3A school. I have a lot emotion invested in this game as I live Hagerstown but love FH.

I agree with your statement that this game will define FH more than the Sherando game. This is FH's first big test after the Keyser loss. Against a team ready to give FH everything they have. This game sets the tone for the second half of the schedule and playoffs.

On the other side...what in the world happened to the Hubs? They are poised to go 0-20 over the past two seasons unless they can beat Frederick later in the month. After the 2012 season I thought they had a chance to start turning the corner themselves. Then the bottom just dropped completely out. Dan Cunningham may have been a descent coach but no way did his departure throw this team deep in the hole they currently reside. I hear the same things Linemen just quoted as to a big reason for the downfall. They are a 3A school as well. When FH signed a two year deal with North everyone thought that would be a series for the ages. They clobbered FH in 2012, two years later in the rematch they were a completely different team. What a shame.

It's all about the talent, or lack there of... Same thing has happened in VA (6A) this year with 2013 State Champion, Centreville, who were stacked with multiple D-1 recruits, and 2014 State Champion runner-up with RB now at South Carolina. Their record sets this yr at 2-4 with the same coaching staff, and people are asking "what's happened?", and criticism of the overall program and coaching philosophy. Many fans are so fickle and out of touch of what it takes to put together a leading program, especially in a large metropolitan area. The loss of just one player to injury, graduation, or transfer can set a program into a tailspin.
