What does it mean to know that you are playing for a state title?
“I feel like it has gone pretty good. Where we are was one of our goals. We would do fourteen pushups every day in practice for this big spot. It is special for us to battle through losing to Northwest and finally coming up with something like this. It is a really good feeling.”

What do you know about your next opponent in Wise?
“They are an excellent team. They look really physical and real fast. They play smart and well coached. It will be a real testament to see how well we can handle a top power ranked team in Maryland. I can’t take anything away from them.”

Do they have any top players that stand out on their team?
“I’ve been watching film for a long time. They have a lot of playmakers. #5, their quarterback, and #2, their running back, both are really fast and can take off with the ball. #50, their left tackle, has good technique and also plays defense. He is really physical on both sides of the ball. I watch most of their d-line. #1 is really young but has soaked everything in. He has a big build that will make him hard to cover. #4, their cornerback/wide receiver, is really elusive when he gets the ball in open space.”

What are the keys to a victory?
“I feel we are both proven teams in Maryland so it comes down to who wants it more. It is about effort, effort, and more effort.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’ve been talking to West Virginia State a little more often. They really are in touch a lot. If we didn’t have these playoff games I would have taken a visit there. I still am in touch with Memphis. I’ve been in touch with Wagner College.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“For me, it was the school who was my first offer, Morgan State. They have really been contacting me. Their coach always calls to check up and see how I am feeling. He has really been on my case about going there.”

When do you want to make a final decision?
“It will come after the season when I get a chance to look into all of the details. It is between the silver lining for what is a good school. I want to find the school that is the best fit for me.”
