How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“The season has been good so far. Overall, I can say that we’re starting to change the culture of our school and our football program because we have the right leaders. We’re more of a team this year than any other year that I’ve been here.”
Who is your next opponent? What are your thoughts on them overall?
“We play Annapolis. I can’t really speak on them yet because I haven’t watched a whole bunch of film on them. I do know that one their key players went down with a torn ACL, so that should impact their offense greatly because the dude was a playmaker.”
What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I feel like our team could improve our morale. We can’t get too high on the highs and too low on the lows. Last week, we played a team that I felt was not as good as us, but they played a more physical game than us. I hate to say it, but they took the heart from our defense. We have to play with more pride and heart and fight for 4 quarters no matter what the score is because anything can happen.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“None actually, but I feel as though because I have higher standards for myself that I haven’t done anything yet. I mean yeah, I’ve played good, but it’s nothing I would brag about or get cocky over. I’ve still been working, perfecting my craft, making the most out of the opportunities I am given, and most importantly remaining humble.”
Do you have plans for game day trips this fall?
“My plans for game day trips is mostly to stay hydrated so I drink lots of water, staying locked in from the time I walk into school to the time the game ends, and making sure all my teammates are on the same page. We can’t lose sight of what we’re trying to do on game days by paying attention to distractions.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite team growing up and still is my favorite team to this day is the Miami Hurricanes. Mainly because of guys like Sean Taylor, who is my favorite player. Watching him play with the passion that he did made me want to play football and be just like him. However, now I’m focused on being the next me and creating a name for myself.”
