How did the football season go for your team?
“The football season went fine. We finished 9-2. We let two games slip away from us but hopefully we bounce back next year.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“This is my first real off season where I’m doing speed and bulk lifting. I’ve always played basketball but now I attend Dejuan Ellis Sr. Sports & Training. We are working on everything to help me physically be ready to compete next season.”
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“This off-season, I just want to work more on understanding the position of offensive line. I know I’m going to school at this position so as far as IQ is concerned, I want to learn as much as I can. I am also lifting weights and getting stronger. I’m now 6-5 to 6-6, 305 pounds, so I would love to just dominate next year.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“Next year, our team will be amazing. We return 34 guys. A lot of key components left but Coach Kates and the staff have gone out and brought in eight midyear players for the team that can help right away.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“The hardest game had to be against Friendship Collegiate. Those guys have the full package being strong and explosive.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have offers from Michigan, Maryland, East Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, North Carolina, Rutgers, Louisville, Washington State, Arizona, and UVA.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I’m getting an equal amount of love from everyone.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I’ve been up to Maryland my sophomore and junior year for some games. I also went to Virginia Tech for their game vs. Duke.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“I’m only doing Prospect camps where I can work with offensive line coaches who could potentially be coaching me (at the next level).”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“(My) favorite college growing up was always Oregon.”
