What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Pre-corona, I was working out at Athletic Republic doing speed and weight training. Also, I was doing DB training with Coach Justin twice a week. Post-corona, I have been running a 2-mile hill and doing push-ups, sit ups, core workouts and squats.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“Since last season, I feel like overall my game has gotten better. To be more specific, my man to man coverage skills and zone cover skills have improved a lot because of 7on7’s and 1on1’s. I have also gotten faster, back pedal faster, coming out of my breaks faster, opening up my hips, I’m more flexible, and most importantly I’ve become a student of the game.”
What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“I want to improve my IQ of the game as much as possible, such as reading tendencies in a wide receiver, offense line and quarterback.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I feel as though my team will have a good year. I will have to step up this year along with some of my teammates to lead the team this year. We have a couple star athletes on defense and some new transfers coming in. Based off our team workouts and our great coaching staff at National Christian Academy, I definitely feel confident that we will have a good year.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Honestly the toughest competition this year will be ourselves because like our Head Coach Andre Kates always tells us, we are our hardest battle, not the opposing team. The games we lost last year were because we lost to ourselves first. So, going into the season, my team is going to be mentally and physically prepared, and disciplined so we won’t have those problems this year.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“Bullis Quarterback Christian Veilleux may be the toughest player my team will play all year. He’s pretty good, but my defense is going to be ready to shut him down and give him his first loss of the season.”
What colleges have been recruiting you
“Colleges that have been recruiting me are the University of Houston who has offered, the University of Massachusetts who has offered, Maryland, West Virginia, Marshall, UConn, Wake Forest, Temple, and Boston College.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any college trips or visits due to Covid-19.”
What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“After being invited, I was planning on going to Under Armour All American Camp and Rivals 3 stripes. I also was going to attend a couple college camps such as Notre Dame after being invited.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
