What were your initial thoughts when the football season was postponed until the spring?
“I was devastated. I began to have thoughts that we wouldn’t even have a season. I was upset about possibly not being able to have a normal junior season, not just for myself but for everyone going through the same struggles. I also felt really bad for the seniors that don’t have much film or aren’t getting recruited as they should be due to lack of play time.”
What are your workout plans at this point going forward?
“Lately, I have been working out every day. Two to three times a week I go workout with my trainer Coach Plez and I’ll workout at my school with Coach Saar. On days I’m not with one of them, or even if I do workout with them that day, I’ll lift at my home or do field work. I’m also always willing to go throw at a field with other players.”
What are you trying to improve on the most at this point?
“Basics. Fundamentals are key to progressing. I want to perfect every detail. My main focuses are my explosiveness, speed, and athleticism. Often times, athletes try and get ahead of themselves and forget about the basics which is key to progressing.”
How do you believe your high school team will be for this upcoming season?
“We have a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. We lost a lot of players defensively last year, but our guys are doing a great job at stepping up and filling their spot. On the offensive side, we have a lot of great players that have only grown since last year, since we were very young on the offensive side. We are definitely championship contenders this season.”
What areas do you feel will be keys to having a successful run during the season?
“The key to our success is going to be making sure everyone on the field performs smart and to their potential along with playing collectively as a unit.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I want to go to the next level for football.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have gained interest from Maryland, Nebraska, Penn State, Columbia, liberty, and other D2 schools.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I haven’t taken any yet. I want to wait until after this season to start taking visits.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college has always been Georgia. I’ve liked them since I was little and just loved their style of play.”
