What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“This offseason, I’ve been doing a lot of working out trying to improve my strength, speed, and agility. Also, I have been getting my arm back in shape as I’ve been doing many more game speed drills.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“Since last football season, I feel like I’ve improved most with my general football knowledge and IQ. I’ve really studied the game in the offseason to better prepare myself for certain in game situations.”
How has Covid-19 factored into your workouts?
“COVID-19 has had several effects on my workouts because I’ve been working out on my own rather than with the team. So, I have to keep myself accountable and focus on what I need to work on specifically rather than what an in-person workout would be with the team. Also, it’s been harder to get some of the guys together and workout on the field.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“This season I feel like my team will do very well as we have a lot of returning talent. We lost a few valuable guys, but I feel like we have a good set of players and dedicated coaches that could make a deep run in the playoffs this year.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our toughest competition this year will probably be either Marriotts Ridge or River Hill. These two teams always play us tough and we ended up in a 3-way tie last year for the county title. However, we did suffer losses to both Urbana and Westminster last year so those could be tough games as well.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against this fall?
“I’m not really sure about the toughest individual players we’ll play, but I know every team we’ll play has at least 1 or 2 very talented players that we need to look out for.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I want to play sports in college, but I’m not sure which one yet. It depends on how the upcoming season goes for each of them. It’s between football, basketball, and track & field. I feel like I have the potential to go to college for each of them, but like I said, it really depends on the upcoming season and recruiting.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have not been getting recruited as of yet, but hopefully that soon will change.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any college trips for me personally, but I have gone to visit colleges when my brother (Wande Owens) was in the recruitment process. The main campus I’ve toured recently is Yale as my brother goes there.”
Do you have any plans for college visits this fall? If so, where?
“I do have plans to visit some colleges. I was planning on visiting Stanford as it has been my dream school for as long as I remember, and also some of the Ivies.”
Do you have any plans for late camps this summer?
“Possibly. I have interest in going to camps, but I just have to figure out what’s best for me and pursue it.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Stanford has always been my favorite school for as long as I can remember. My mom went there, and I’ve just always had dreams of playing sports there.”
