Wait a minute, wait a minute....didn't FH beat Kent Island? So that makes them a cupcake right?

Yup those cupcakes made it to the state semi's!

I assume they will play our old rival Dunbar next week, pending a huge upset. 2A has been unpredictable thus far!

Lights at Damascus went out several times for delays up to 30 minutes in the middle of game time according to Sun poster. Don't know the details of the the close 14-13 loss by Linganore and if these outages hurt or helped Linganore.

Hope Kent Island beats Dunbar!

Chestnut Ridge had a great run this year. Karns City ended their season last year too. Closer this year though.

What a bout those Falcons! What is their best record in school history? I this their deepest playoff run?

It was 14-0 Damascus before the lights went out the 2nd time just prior to the end of the 3rd quarter.

Linganore scored to make it 14-13 with 2:01 left in the 4th and went for 2. RB slipped and fell before crossing the goalline.

Dunbar, South Carroll and Kent Island are all through in 2A. Douglass (PG) and Patuxent play tomorrow.

If Douglass (PG) wins, it's South Carroll at Douglass (PG) and Dunbar at Kent Island.

If Patuxent wins, it's South Carroll at Kent Island and Dunbar at Patuxent.

This is the 3rd time in school history that Frankfort has reached the Semifinals (1994, 2009, 2014), however, this is in fact the 1st time Frankfort has hosted a Semifinal game. With respect to their record, this is the first time a Frankfort team has ever won 12 games as they finished 11-2 in 1994 and 2009.

Maybe Frankfort will have the balls to schedule FH. LOL!!! They may win a state championship but will still be terrified of a 1A school a few miles away. Pitiful!!!!!!!

I look for fort hill or allegany to win the next 8 out of 10 state titles

Allegany returns most of their starters next year unless the korn screws it up

If NC is an example of 1A then western maryland should bring home the titles

Fort Hill just keeps reloading saw a lot of younger players stepping up last night

Fort Hill will beat Allegany twice next year. I know Allegany has some talent but it doesn't matter. While next year will be the worst of the next 3 for Fort Hill, Appel will have them better than Allegany come weeks 10-12. Remember Allegany was supposed to win the state title 2 years ago and Appel beat them twice 21-20....it will be the same scenario, plus, Allegany is losing Kirk Robinette and those are hard shoes to fill. Unless Calhoun replaces the Korn with himself and brings Refosco, Gilmore, Merrill and Toby Eirich out if retirement Big Blue has to expect more of the same, they shouldn't get their hopes up.

I refuse to say that FH or Alco will win 8/10 1a state titles. FH thought they'd dominate when dropped to 1a, first title finally came last year. It's going on 10 years since Alco won their last. To much can happen with enrollment and Baltimore City teams doing the player shuffle. Plus there is always the chance that another team could emerge from the North as a contender or just a random freak powerhouse be a 1 year wonder. Nothing is for certain.

I also refuse to say that even if we'd beat a Baltimore City in the semis at FH, the title game is a cake walk. Any give day a team can be beat. I have been a FH fan long enough to know nothing is promised and we have a unique history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Until that 4th ring is on the hand, nothing is completed or finished.

And if the Dunbar all-stars of 2A get tired of losing, they'll find a way to drop back down to 1A so they can "dominate" once again. LOLOLOL!!!

I honestly think the second outage helped us out because I think it just made us mad. Not that it matters but it was actually our QB who slipped on the 2 point conversion. The field was not in a good shape. I think the best way to describe it was frozen dirt and we had trouble keeping our footing all night long. The conditions didnt help but that certainly wasnt the reason for falling into the 14-0 hole and losing.

With that being said, this game was the poster child for our flawed playoff system. The fact that the 2 teams with the most accumlated points in the class played a 2nd round game is a complete travesty. The best team may still win 3A but in my opinion, Linganore is probably better than at least 2 other teams that will be playing this weekend.

So can Damascus beat Franklin if they both win this week? Franklin is pretty damn good, too.

The Damascus defense played a great first 3 quarters against us. We have very few players going both ways as opposed to Damascus and you could see that they got wore down in the fourth quarter which led to the comeback.

Damascus had their South Carolina commit go down with injury very early in the game and without him in there, the Damascus offense was pretty one dimensional with just handing the ball off to Jake Funk. No idea how severe his injury was or if he will be back but if he cant come back, I think they will have trouble with Franklin. We were extremely one dimensional in our game with Franklin last year and we all know how that went.
