Hey look, Westinghouse simply said they weren't making the trip to Cumberland to play Fort Hill, they didn't specifically say they weren't playing any games this week. In fact, when Delmer Delawder saw news of the Westinghouse forfeit to Fort Hill, he picked up his car phone and called Westinghouse to arrange a game with the Pirates. Delawder and the Pirates were stuck with a 9 game schedule, and Delmer wanted a 10th game to keep the coffers full. He did some digging and found out that unlike the MPSSAA, West Virginia 1/2 A rules actually allow for games to be added after the first game has been played. The rest is history.
