Until Alco upgrades their hoops schedule they will never beat the city teams. They basically play Northern, Southern, FH, BW, Keyser, Mtn Ridge and Clear Spring 2 and 3 times and then boast about these great 20 win seasons. Look around at those area teams. PITIFUL! The only time Alco steps out of area is a game vs. mediocre MATHS Charter School and they get beat. Why wouldn't anyone want to step out of this area and upgrade the schedule? Everyone makes the playoffs. I could see where overloading the schedule is a bad deal where like in football 9-1 left some teams out of the playoffs. I guess they want to brag about 20 wins. Congrats on your 20 wins and AMAC titles I guess.

We should all be thankful FH and Alco don't play a football AMAC schedule.

They lost a very close game sfter leading the entire game. Lake Clifton beat a very good team last werk who beat many of the Baltimore City schools including Dunbar does that mean Edmonson dont play anyone either

Basically they were up 16-2 and went cold shooting 2nd qtr on. Guess its there fault they can go cold shooting and still beat FH

They can go cold shooting and beat anyone in this area. That's the problem. Beating everyone in the AMAC 2 and 3 times isn't an indicator of anything.

One of FH's best teams beat up on local schools in 96-97 to become undefeated at 21-0 to end the regular season. The First Round in 2A West matched them against Bethesda Chevy-Chase that was 11-11 or 11-13, can't remember exactly. BCC was bigger and physical. FH matched up physically but it took them a buzzer beater shot to win. FH was demolished in the coming days by Middletown. Even the high school kids saw the writing on the wall playing local teams week in and week out. 20 wins locally in basketball doesn't mean anything.

Lake Clifton used to be a 4A school in the 90s. The school doesn't even exist anymore, there is no physical structure. The Lake Clifton teams now consist of smaller charter schools that unite under the Lake Clifton name. I believe it was eagleinsider who posted this before. I found it interesting.

Wow Alco lost and all of a sudden FH ppl are interested in Basketball lol... They choke again, their 20sum consecutive area wins doesnt mean anything, blah blah blah...

I know right? it's kind of annoying when you can own your crosstown rival, win almost all games locally, and play tough in the playoffs but not always win the big game - - and yet get no respect. But Alco doesn't hang runner up banners, so I guess they perpetuate that mentality from within.

I've said it about FH being bashed by Alco folks after losing a football playoff game and it applies here, too-- you have no place bad mouthing a team for losing a game you weren't good enuff to play in!!!!!!!

Guess they didn't choke against Fort Hill THREE TIMES this year

Correct - no one in the area has any right to smack talk Alco.

I don't think Alco choked, they just lost to a better team. The LC team you saw in the second half was who they really are - the 2nd ranked team in Baltimore.

I think Brian H is correct about making changes if Alco wants to close the gap with the Baltimore City schools. Playing one or two better teams during the season if a good move. The other thing is Alco needs to dedicate a team to off-season play all summer, which is what they do in the City and in PG.
