Find out what some of the top players in the state are saying about how football has been going as of late!

Q&A with McDonough offensive guard Logan Seman
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Our team went 3-6 in the regular season, won the school’s first playoff win since 2010 vs Gwynn Park, it was a good season but the coaches and the team know we are better than a 3-6 football team.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“This off season I have been working out five days a week, conditioning, and overall making myself a better football player.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel our team will take a jump next year, we overcame a lot of odds this year and we’re getting back a good amount of talented players from eligibility.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“[We] haven’t received the next year’s schedule yet but if it’s similar to last year’s schedule I would have to say Patuxent, Calvert, or Lackey, but I know as a team if we get better we can seriously compete with those teams.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Jamari Somerville.”

Q&A with Quince Orchard athlete Elisha West
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Season went well. We won the 4A Title and only allowed 4 ppg defensively.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Already started training with Roc Carmichael and AOD by Plez. Plan is to get bigger and faster while sharpening my technique. I may play the 2nd half of basketball season but I will definitely be running outdoor track.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We are losing some key pieces but we are returning most of our Defensive Backfield which should help us. Our JV has some studs that will fill right in. I believe we will win another title if we are locked in.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Northwest is always our toughest opponent but the 4A is getting tougher each year. We are adding a couple teams we have never played next season as well.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Antonio Berry always gives us his A game. He’s shifty and a tough runner whom you can’t let get in the open field.”

How did the high school football season go overall?

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We are going to shock a lot of people and have a bounce back year from last year. We lost a lot of seniors but are also bringing up a lot of players from an undefeated JV squad.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We have Bel Air week 1, that will be a very tough in-county match up and probably our toughest game.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I think the running back on Perryville, number 4, will be a tough matchup for us.”

Q&A with Howard linebacker Cameron Demma
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Proud of my team… no one expected what we put out this season going 6-3 in the regular season and winning the first playoff game.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans with sports right now are basketball in the winter and I was thinking of trying lacrosse but track will be more beneficial. Then just hard work on the field and in that gym.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel like we will have a better record within our county (regular season). I expect a fight to go far in the playoffs, we need the right mindset.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our toughest opponents next year will be River Hill, they are competitive every year and Atholton, lots of good athletes over there.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I strongly believe our team (especially the defense) has some of the toughest to go against. Regardless, I'm not worried about [anyone] else in the county.”

Q&A with Broadneck wide receiver Eli Harris
How did the high school football season go overall?
“I thought our season as a whole was very successful. Definitely a little disappointed with how it ended but we showed how good we can be. People in the beginning of the season were worried with how many starters we were graduating but people stepped up big time. For example, Cam Catterton threw for over 2000 yards and was a major leader in our offense.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I personally plan to keep working harder and try to get chemistry with our new QB. The winter is normally my off time trying to work on things and just simply going to the gym while in the spring I play lacrosse.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I’m expecting our team to play very well, as that’s my expectation every year. It’s always going to depend on how much work we put in.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think our toughest competition this upcoming season will be Old Mill as they always are. It’s just a game of the two best teams in our county and it’s always fun. There’s just so much tension and complete athletes on the field.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Honestly I think we can game plan for anyone. So my answer is no one.”
