Got some of you...they did but it's a JV football game on Halloween night. The Orange & Black invades Greenway Ave Stadium for a Monster Mash. Good test for young Sentinels.

Good tough test for the JV squad, the varsity has added some tougher games since the playoff changes, some locals still clamor for the Bulldogs but as long as they have an exciting game or two to go with the local matchups it's all most ever were wanting. Fall is right around the corner

With MPSSAA permanently approving 6 classes for football which means every team now makes the playoffs, there is zero reason FH shouldn't be playing Martinsburg each year. FH could play a BW basketball type schedule and go 3-7 but as long as they can beat Alco and Mt Ridge chances are they will win 1A state championship. There is little to no competition left for the Sentinels football machine in the new 1A. I suspect Allegany County schools will pile up the championships in football over the next 10 years with FH winning most of them.

wow it's crazy to see Fort Hill is the 7th Smallest School in the State by the 21-23 Football Numbers at 495
Consolidation Anyone????????? We will be Hancock soon...
Never thought I would see the day that Bedford High had more students

Geez! Ya think FH should “load up“ beyond the current strong schedule? Powerhouse schools that platoon against the 7th smallest school in the state. FH won’t continue to have the dept they’ve had in the past. Get real! Are those classifications official?

Allegany and MR should be scheduling them too then, right? I mean, it really comes down to the three of them beating each other for the right to play for the 1A title. So Alco might as well be playing Martinsburg and Good Counsel, because a few L's really doesn't matter, right?

Yes the MPSSAA has approved to keep the 6 classes for football. Last year equaled too much money for them.

Also in full stupidity mode, the classification names will remain the same for total confusion. The win point totals for beating teams are as follows:

4A - 8 points
4A/3A - 8 points
3A - 7 points
2A - 7 points
2A/1A - 6 points
1A - 6 points

What this means locally is that the Class 1A West will only have 6 teams as Hancock and Clear Spring will most always opt out of the playoffs.

EaglesInsider posted on the MOCO board about how MSFD is joining an eight man football league with 4 PA schools, a DC school and a VA school. Would make sense for Hancock to consider something of that nature.
