FH score

17-7 at the half.

Snyder had a 69 yard run with 1:30 to go in the half. He then threw for a 9 yard touchdown.

With the exception of that run, MR doesn’t have much of an offense.

MR gets the football in the third quarter. The first drive of the second half should be rather telling.

wow! winning big without the fastest player in the area…nice. FH proved they are for real beating 2 big time schools already this year

My assumption is you are talking about Old Mill and Oakdale. If you say three tough games then Hollidaysburg needs to be considered because FH had 7 starters in quarantine that game. At this point, I would say MR is the 4th toughest team FH has played. Then again, Northern played FH tougher than MR has tonight.

Score now: 37-7 with 8 minutes left in the game.

Blake White was out hurt for most of the second half as well. FH really stepped up. Hess was just destroying everyone in his path tonight. The kid is a beast.

Great win by Fort Hill. To be the best you have to beat the best. I didn't think that it would be this big of a margin but it was. Credit to the Fort Hill players and staff. They played a flawless game tonight.

Do I think that Mountain Ridge played its best game tonight? No. But is their best game good enough to beat this Fort Hill team? Maybe, on an off night for Fort Hill, maybe not.

Back to work for Mountain Ridge. They have three very tough games left. They can ill afford to have another loss if they want to host several playoff games.

One dog will never beat a pack of dogs… congrats to the FH staff. They are overachieving in year 1
Could not agree with you more. One main reason I thought that it would be different this year is because of this very reason.

Jarrod Harper was the star in the first battle. But he didn't have too much support.

Sefa was the star in the last battle. But he had even less support than Jarrod had.

Snyder was supposed to be the star in this battle. We thought he had support from not only play makers on offense, but the lines on both sides, and that proved once again to be wrong.

While I do wholeheartedly believe that this Mountain Ridge team plays as a team better than those two previous teams did, it still isn't enough.

No knock on Ridge here. I think Bryce is an exceptional player and their team is a good football team but FH is to football as Beall is to wrestling. It goes deep. The roots go deep and the generations of south Cumberland families instill a high standard in the game of football in their kids like Ridge does wrestling.

Side note... can someone ask whoever controls the NFHS feed for Fort Hill to fix the scoreboard issue. It always puts Fort Hill points on visitor side and opponents points on Fort Hill side. Lol

I missed it as I was standing I line but yes that’s the trick… keep kids enthusiastic about the game and the program

Hoping readers don't take this the wrong way, but I kept looking at scores and looking at the Mountain Ridge opponents and now using hindsight...one has to realize the Mountain Ridge schedule up to this point has been extremely bad. And I use the word extremely not lightly. Alco was the only decent measuring stick. What I just said has nothing to do with scheduling - MR has a perfect schedule. It just so happened Catoctin is going 0-9 while Southern, Smithsburg and to a point Frankfort are, well, really not good. Never use margin of victory against poor competition to compare - and I see voters in the college AP poll still do it too.

This is why I value the Queen City Quad. Getting kids to see good competition weighs big.

I would agree with you. Southern, Catoctin, Allegany, Smithsburg and Frankfort is usually not the cake walk that it was this year. And that is for any team that would play that schedule.

Most are seeing now that Allegany isn't as bad as people thought they were.

This game against Fort Hill, and the next three games against Northern, Williamsport and Keyser will prepare Mountain Ridge well for the playoffs.

If you think FH had to beat Rudge "the best" to be the best, wow! Not a FH fan at all but they are still king of the area until someone knocks them off. That won't happen for awhile

WOW. i’m a believer now. Old mill is a really good 4a program and it’s not close. Oakdale is a great 3a program and fort hill beats them down. I believe Mountain Ridge is a top 1a program this year but Fort Hill is the real deal. Congrats to the Fort Hill coaching staff.

It still never ceases to amaze me how much pregame shit talking MR (especially the players) do before these hyped games with FH. In 2011 it was the our ridge tops your hill stuff. FH blows them out. In 2018 it was all hyped up online and how they had the best running back and FH wouldn't stop him. FH blows them out. And this year MR players posing online, one of them holding a baby doll with #77 written on it. FH blows them out.

Ya think maybe win more than once every 17 years before acting like that? If anyone watched #77 for FH last night he was flattening anything in front of him. He didn't really need that extra motivation, but it was gifted to him anyway.

Great post FHS. These area schools need to understand that you won’t gain anything by talking crap to FH in this sport. Football is owned by FH in this area. Southern and Mt Ridge are learning this the hard way. Credit to FHS little brother (alco). They figured this out a while back and just accepted it.

Same old, same old from this match up on the scoreboard. On the feild, Fort Hill played really well in spots, but always had a bit of sloppiness mixed in there as well. Mountain Ridge didnt do anything much different tonight than the teams from previous years. And would've been shut out if the FH defenders had finished the tackle on the QB run at the end of the first half. This game didnt have the kind of emphatic energy that 2011 or 2018 had, but the message is still the same. Fort Hill is and will remain the alpha in this area until their beaten. Regardless of any hypotheical conversations or predictions
While this FH team certainly isnt as good as any of the teams from the 6 year title run theres no reason they shouldnt be in Annapolis winning championship number eight next month.

More perspective…..this year and 2018 were supposed to be the changing of the guard years….. 56-0 in 2018 and 37-7 2021, that’s 93-7….

Think about that…. Southern was destroyed by Ridge 84-0…. In two games where ridge was picked by many to win FH has beaten ridge 93-7…. That’s an 86 point difference….
