According to Baltimore Sun forum they return a very good QB but supposedly lost entire O and D line in addition to a couple receivers to transfer.
Such as it is in high school football. I guess one of the questions is whether they would be allowed some quick recruiting basis another run for the ring as with the old downsizing dominance.
As it stands - and to be sure I am not a MaxPreps junkie - Dunbar looks to be ranked atop the 1A heap with a state ranking of 27 and a national ranking of 1475. Alco sits respectfully with 37 and 2128 - putting them 3rd in 1A. FH is just under Dunbar - again according to MaxPreps - at 29 in the state and 1529 nationally.
Playing with the MaxPreps national numbers you can come up with an average spread and an overall competitive difference for the entire regular season.
Dunbar
Rank 1475
*Average spread of the total competition 3704
competitive difference 2229
Alco
Rank 2128
*Average spread of the total competition 2799
competitive difference 671
Fort Hill
Rank 1529
*Average spread of the total competition 3099
competitive difference 1570
You can draw your own conclusions but the numbers suggest that the smaller the difference the closer the school is to its overall competitive level.
*Average spread is the average combined national ranking minus the individual ranking of either Dunbar, Alco or FH.
