If I start a post on the Boston Celtics it will always come back to FH. LOL.
Yep, Love em or hate em this board revolves around FH football...even on a basketball thread.
ADVICE FOR BW BASKETBALL (IMPORTANT)
Some friendly quick advice for BW people running the show (and hopefully helpful too). I find myself pulling for BW to do well in hoops, enjoy following their season to see how they stack up with some of these nationally ranked opponents. The problem is I have no where to do that accurately and up to the minute. Where is a daily updated schedule with dates, times and scores?
When I check MaxPreps, which is the only place I know of that actually posts the schedules and scores to a degree, it is never accurate and up to date. For example, I was trying to find out who BW played after beating Bishop Shanahan. I see they won but to this point didn't even know who they played. I finally found out in the Times-News Sunday paper a full day later they played a team called Dock Mennonite. That game is still not updated in MaxPreps. God bless the Times-News but they don't keep an updated schedule either. Nor do they have the employees to run such a thing accurately.
I realize the BW schedule can change daily, but there is no reason their schedule can't be updated for the public immediately. It only takes about 60 seconds to update the internet with schedule and score info. It is important to take one person or even one student and put them solely in charge of logging into the MaxPreps page for example if that is the page you want to use, and update that thing immediately as changes occur. You have people that want to follow BW basketball that can't figure out what day and time they are playing with any consistency. Maybe there is another updated BW basketball link I am not aware of. If so please post it.
This is all good stuff I am saying. I have developed and run websites for many sports teams at many levels. Do not ignore the power of the internet when trying to draw up interest, especially with the younger generation. If you are trying to recruit a student-athlete, show them a website that professionally says, THIS IS WHAT WE ARE DOING. It goes a long way. It doesn't cost anything but a fraction of somebody's time. For that matter BW basketball should have it's own dedicated website, but hey that's me.
What BW is doing is very exciting for not just BW but for Cumberland. Go the distance. Put someone in charge of updating the schedule dates, times and scores. I didn't even know they were playing Hope for Hyndman. It's not on any schedule I've seen.
Sorry for the length of my posts much too often. I type as fast as I talk.
