My thoughts exactly. Sometimes when you lose a game it's because the other team was better than you that particular day.A couple things I haven't seen anybody mention in the last few days. Little things like fielding punts that have been a problem since week one. First play miscues like a fumble or illegal procedure. These are those small things that make you wonder if FH comes out ready, is there preparation something that is causing there to be a lack of focus. Another thing that seems like it could just be people stirring the pot..if in season weight lifting is a problem is that something that just started this year or was it the same last year? When FH beat Oakdale nobody mentioned it Also, did this me first instead of team mentality that some are mentioning start week one or was it just last week? It's easy to start picking apart an entire program based on one game but is it realistic that all these things just didn't matter the first 5 weeks or is MR so much better than everybody else that it's only going to matter against MR. I think lastly something that has been a little funny to watch is how some have blamed passing the ball for the loss. As a wise man on this site pointed out a few weeks ago you can throw out of the wing-t, you don't have to change your entire offensive scheme to throw the ball. Perhaps just going back to their bread and butter and throwing in a few short passes is what was intended by those who think FH should throw more.
I would agree with this statement. It was on the decline a little before Covid and I believe that no football during Covid (for the most part) only made it worse.I don't know. This forum has been quiet for a long while now. There seems to be more chatter this week and last then there has been in a year.
I don't know... it's a mess over there. The inmates are running the asylum and the coaching staff (which according to some hadn't ever lost a game before) has zero control over the players. Cats and dogs living together! ... complete pandemonium!Fort Hill is going to be just fine. The coaches will get them ready for a possible rematch with Mountain Ridge depending on how everything falls.
I am looking forward to another Mountain Ridge/Fort Hill game. You aren't wrong about your observation though, lol.
Agreed. Lack of competitive games, leads to lack of content, and that sometimes leads to rumors, misinformation, and sometimes nonsense.IMO, this particular forum is quiet because there is nothing in 1A football worth discussing unless FH and MR are playing in the regular season or the state title game. 1A football is just...boring. All of Western MD football is 1A. So, there ya go.
I hear Frederick has declared themselves the greatest thing since sliced bread. Maybe Fort Hill and/or Mountain Ridge can get them on the schedule next year. That would certainly give everyone something to talk aboutAgreed. Lack of competitive games, leads to lack of content, and that sometimes leads to rumors, misinformation, and sometimes nonsense.
Prediction: The Cadets will lose to 3-3 Linganore and to 5-1 Oakdale.I hear Frederick has declared themselves the greatest thing since sliced bread. Maybe Fort Hill and/or Mountain Ridge can get them on the schedule next year. That would certainly give everyone something to talk about
I haven’t seen Linganore play in person this year (hopefully tomorrow night) but I did watch the Oakdale and Middletown games on the NFHS Network. From the second half of the Oakdale game through the entirety of the Middletown game, Linganore looked absolutely horrendous, especially offensively. Through those 6 quarters they scored 0 points and I believe managed a total of 2 or 3 first downs, highlighted by -9 total rushing yards against Middletown. If that Linganore team shows up, it’s going to be a long night.Prediction: The Cadets will lose to 3-3 Linganore and to 5-1 Oakdale.
