With the latest announcement by ACPS I assume most if not all local games won’t played this week

Correct. All Allegany county athletics and extra-curricular activities until further notice. Mineral county as well, as Frankfort is closed.

There are people on Facebook literally blaming this on the election as a "told you so"...and someone is even trying to organize a protest to go storm the State House over it.

These are the same people that are...

Do you expect anything else from them?

And in Portland there are still blacks burning shit because another black high on crack with a long list of criminal charges is aggressively coming after police with a knife and got shot. Do you expect anything else from them? No wonder you didn't have the grades to get into college.

Your Lord and Savior is going to need help moving out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. You going to be available or will you be too busy stalking high school kids? 😂

OMG, what am I going to do if Trump isn't the president? LOL. I am sure you will stop feeling like a poor oppressed black man all of the sudden. Maybe you can go back in time and play QB now.

I've made over 100k this year in clear profit. That's outside of my 6 figure day job. I've moved on in life. Unlike you worrying about someone elses grades. Maybe if you spent less time worrying about other males and more time worrying about your bank account you could eventually move out of your mom's basement.. 😂

Did I mention I just recently made another transaction that will net me over another 100k on top of the 100k I've already made this yr and on top of my 6 figure a yr. day job? I'm laughing at you all the way to the bank.. Literally laughing at you on my way to the bank! You sound resentful that you only had enough talent to be my blocking dummy 😂

As far as I know Southern @ Northern tomorrow is still on
Yes, Northern and Southern (as of this hour) are set to play tomorrow. Bishop Walsh also is open to play. Also the Patriots and Braddock Warriors are set to play football on Saturday. It is their call whether the game will go on.

So just to rehash:
Only Allegany County activities have been halted. In-person classroom is still a go. The Rocky Gap Casino is also open at 75% capacity. If I didn't laugh I would cry.

Also, from the Gov Hogan press release today:

- WARNING ADVISORY: State advising people not to travel to other states and if you do please self-quarantine

- FAMILY GATHERINGS and HOUSE PARTIES are the No. 1 cause of the spread the state medical office has found. So the holidays will be extremely difficult. Keep the number of people at each gathering at a minimum. Remain cautious and vigilant with family and friends during the holidays. Do not include family members or others that have traveled far distances or from other states. "Do not include older and more vulnerable people in your holiday gathering". This was a direct quote.

I get what's going on. I have said before, if the health experts make a decision in the name of safety and saving lives...even if I don't agree with it I can abide by it. If big government wants to shut me down, I don't agree with it but will comply as long as they assist me with cash flow to pay bills. I wear a mask everywhere, I social distance, never ever shake hands anymore, wash and sanitize hands 50 times a day. I'm not sure if masks really help because most are just thin cloth for show...but I comply.

And if I am trying to be on the same page with you bigsavage in some small degree my personal problem is the crazy logic being applied that really doesn't help slow the spread at all. In other words, how can we cancel just public school activities while allowing universities to be open. On the same day the BOE shut down school activities, Frostburg State opened back up on in-person classrooms when we now know full well colleges and universities are pits of COVID spread. Why are the casinos still open at 75% capacity? Why is unessential travel still permissible? You have to realize the ONLY thing the health department closed was the public high school activities. Which by the way...the Patriots and Braddock Warriors do play tomorrow in Cresaptown at 1:00. Bishop Walsh is still open for sports and school. Surely you can see some of this hypocrisy maybe? If we are serious about stopping the spread, then do it. Just don't piddle around and lock only children at home.

But also take note about what I posted above concerning holiday family gatherings. If you want to do your part, then avoid them at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Because as the state just announced, family gatherings are the No. 1 source of the spread. So asking you and others to sacrifice this holiday season by not seeing grandma and grandpa and other family from outside our state is the same as asking a student to give up their school and activities. If you cannot avoid family this holiday season I cannot respect much of what you say.

In the SW Florida area this week. Plenty of HS football, in person school and family gatherings going on. Too bad Allegany County is in another dimension.

We don't celebrate holidays so we don't have to worry about that.. To your other points.. I get your frustration I share in it and I totally agree. I think our earlier disagreements stemmed from our differing causes and solutions. The problem today is that there was no real leadership coming from the White House to develope a national coordinated effort to contain and possibly stop the virus when there was a chance. Everything the WH and their followers said, including many on this board, just flew in the face of common sense.. Even though it was a new disease we have some understanding of how viruses are transmitted. Advocating that kids not get tested for the sake of saving HS sports and railing against measures put in place to protect the community, at the very least was reckless and irresponsible if not dangerous.

People got tricked into believing the WH narrative that mask wearing, social distance practices, and lockdowns were an infringement on their rights and that it was a "hoax". What people failed to realize is that Trump didn't care about Rights and Liberties. He cared about his re-election. He knew his chances were diminished if the economy took a hit. He didn't care how many lives were sacrificed just so long as his was saved. The failure of his followers and those on this board is in not recognizing that when there was a chance. I realize It takes a special kind of understanding to sympathize with something that hasn't been experienced. People were experiencing mask wearing, people were experiencing lockdowns and other measures but the virus is much like racism to most people. Its not real nor is it easily understood unless you live through it. It took time for the virus to affect everyone in this country on a personal level. So to many, it was just a "hoax". That doesn't negate the fact that people were dying early and often while people who understood the severity were sounding the alarm to no avail. What it boils down to is this. We as a society have to do some soul searching and ask ourselves, is life more important than being inconvenienced? For a better part of a year it wasn't and we have a huge death toll and surge in the virus to prove it. If history is any indicator I don't have much faith in mankind to make the right choice in the moment. For the most part we are creatures that operate in hind-sight and make changes only when we come to regret the wrong choices already made.

That's actually the best argument I have read from you in a while. We both do much better putting down the anger and talking sensibly. That's right, I can look in the mirror.

I don't really disagree too much. My concern for Biden will be the same issues Trump dealt with: this county is massively divided almost 50/50. Whatever plans Biden has for COVID or whatever issue will be met with complete scrutiny. Biden will not be capable of implementing at a federal level what ever he wants in the same way Trump could not. My case in point always goes back to March and April when New York hired ACLU lawyers to fight a travel ban out of the state/city. Over 3 million people did a mass exodus from NY when they were the COVID epicenter of the world. Travel spread this virus around the world, hello? Trump could not stop it because states have rights. Gov. Hogan has met the same issues. He cannot put a mandate on Maryland because every county will sue and fight to do their own thing.

You can easily take a look at Trump's top level priority when he ran in 2016...repeal Obamacare. He tried so many times and it wasn't going to happen. Biden will hit the same exact wall unfortunately. It literally is almost like having Biden tell people not to wear masks, now all of the sudden the freedom warriors who refused to wear them will now wear them just to be defiant. There is no science involved, only spite.

No matter who is in office, they cannot just do whatever they want. The Senate will block it, the Nancy Pelosi's of the world will block it, the legal system and Supreme Court will block it. Or at least do all they can to try. You know it. There can be no leadership if half the people and state/county governments do not follow. America has pretty much screwed itself in this two party system. It's a shame Independents come election time have zero chance.
