Any predictions. Allegany is playing a lot of sophomores especially in crucial positions.

Boonsboro was supposed to be in a bit of a down year but they beat Catoctin last week. Not sure what that tells us as I haven't seen Catoctin play. They did seem to struggle in Spring ball. So, maybe they are in a little bit of a down spot right now? Should be a good game. Hopefully Allegany can pull out the win. It would be very good for their team morale to start 2-0.

I was pretty impressed with Boonsboro last week against Catoctin. They have some speed in the backfield and I thought both of their lines played very well. Boonsboro also capitalized on Catoctin's mistakes and that really was the difference in the game. They looked much improved from their scrimmages against James Wood and MR. Their most glaring issue is definitely the secondary. Catoctin, and both of their scrimmage opponents, were able to move the ball pretty easily through the air. Catoctin abandoned the pass in the middle of the game and I was honestly sitting there wondering why they weren't dropping back to pass on every down. To Boonsboro's credit, they stepped up when they needed to, including forcing a turnover when Catoctin had a first and goal at the 1. If Allegany has any passing game at all, they should try to use it. With that being said, Go Warriors!

P.S. The Catoctin JV beat Boonsboro 27-0 last night and yes, it was as ugly as the score indicates. Catoctin only dressed 21 players but they made the most of them!

Allegany has a sophomore qb, with last year getting canceled he doesn’t have much experience, hopefully they can make it a decent game at least. They threw the ball some last week out of the shotgun.

Boonsboro’s starting QB also hurt his leg last week. He went in and out of the game a couple times after the initial injury so I am not sure what will happen with that tomorrow. This week and next week against Brunswick are huge games for Boonsboro if they want to avoid a trip to Cumberland or Frostburg in early November. IF they can go 3-0 against out of county 1A West opponents, I only see them being considerable underdogs against Middletown the rest of the way. Not sure what Towson has, but they lost their season opener to Patapsco, so that’s a toss up in my opinion as of right now.

GO BIG BLUE!
That basically means good luck to both teams. Just glad to be playing a game each week.

It will be interesting. I thought Allegany executed very well for their first game of the season. Boonsboro did not overall. Boonsboro probably had several hundred yards in offense but couldn't pass really and had problems scoring. Cactoctin executed a bit better, spring season probably helping them I assume. Not the Cactoctin of 2019 but could still be a player in November if they get it together. It should be a battle tonight, it usually is. Allegany always comes to play even when outmanned or hurt, they give it their all

Allegany has 20 players with 6 being sophomores. Boonsboro has more in numbers, good atmosphere at the field. Hopefully it’s a good game. Boonsboro is wearing white uniforms at home

20? What in the heck is going on? You've got several hundred boys and this is how many are interested in football...something isn't right.

The positive is the JV team has 24 players plus the 6 sophomores on varsity, 30 9th and 10th graders is looking up.
