3 A State Ttle Game Damascus vs. Franklin

Damascus 21-7 @ the half... Franklin put together a nice 2min. offense to get a score before the half to put them back in it...
Unbelievable! Franklin trailing 21-0 has come all the way back to take the lead 28-21 with 2:56 left in the 4th qtr.
Nice Hi Def coverage of the game. Will have it for Saturday also.
As far as the 3A game... Going for a 4th and 9 at mid field with the score tied? Trying an onside kick with the lead and 3 minutes to play? All this and they are going to win. Well, I guess when the other team has the ball at the 50 yard line and throws into triple coverage. All this is pretty dumb for 3A football.

Disagree, Franklin was the better team and they came out in the second half and took the game over. Damascus played a perfect first half and Franklin had two costly turnovers, one of them at the goal line as they were going in for a TD. Franklin's QB is going to WVU and their WR Smothers was the best athlete on the field. Back to back state titles for Franklin. They earned this game. Damascus has nothing to be ashamed of. They played hard and took a great team to the wire.
I said after they beat us that Damascus would need to find a passing game to beat Franklin and that didn't happen. I did think Damascus still did a pretty good job of running the ball even when Franklin was basically putting 11 men on the line of scrimmage. Franklin was just too athletic. Great comeback by Franklin but Damascus may be the team to beat in 3A next year as they have some great talent returning on both sides of the ball.
Franklin may have been the better team but Damascus has a very good team and with a 3 td lead in a State Championship Football game I would expect that team to win 99% of the time unless they blow it. That td catch in double coverage with 30seconds left until halftime was the play that turned this game around... I think had Damascus went into the half 21-0 they would be State Champions. The game was alot closer than what the final score said 35-21.. It was tied @ 21 with 3mins left in the game. The final was gonna be 28-21 but then Franklin got a freebie td at the end of the game on a desperation final play... I really felt like Damascus had this one and let it slip away...
Damascus will be the team to beat next yr in 3A..
