1A Scores and Schedules

I did not realize North Hagerstown beat Brunswick last weekend. Wow, did not see that one coming.

Without having seen any other 1A teams outside the WestMac play I thought based solely on scores comparison that the teams to push the West would be Boonsboro, Brunswick, Perryville and Cambridge. It's too hard to tell. I don't mean to dog other team's schedules but me thinks they are really on the light side east of Allegany County. But that is why it's 1A ball.

Regardless of the last two weeks of the regular season I can see two West Region teams pushing the envelope post season.
I'm calling it right now... FH and Allegany in the state championship. Would be wild!

I am really hoping Alco can avoid Fort Hill and play Mountain Ridge. It looks to me like they are on a collision course with Ft Hill just to make it out of the west

Boonsboro plays North this week. A score to watch.

There's a thread on the MOCO board on the Brunswick head coach being removed from the job before last week's game. Some think it may have lead to the loss. Apparently he is done for the season over something he said the week before the North game.

Williamstown High is about the size of Fort Hill. They are a bigger school than Frankfort.

Having said that, the way WV classifies their schools based on factors other than enrollment is so odd.
Smaller than FH. Talking to a Williamstown parent yesterday. High School has about 350 to 400 students. Williamstown runs grades 6 thru 12. Roughly 100 kids per grade.

Let's not go too far yet. Williamstown was a 1A team that got put into the 2A. They are small, and not very fast. What they do have is a good coaching staff. When Frankfort makes it to the "Big Dance" I'll be more than happy to give them some credit. I believe that it's been about fifty years since they've been there.
